Cover Crop "Chop'n Drop"

Organic seed mix for creating a living mulch layer.

Our cover crop mix includes:

Lucerne (alfalfa), flax, Alexandrian clover, serradella, phacelia, Persian clover, buckwheat, field pea, lupin, sunflower, dill, oil radish and summer vetch.

Cover Crop helps your fresh substrate become truly living soil. The roots of the Cover Crop penetrate the substrate and, through root excretions, form symbiotic relationships with microorganisms. After the roots die, they leave behind air spaces, thus ensuring a good oxygen supply. The legume component of the mix forms symbiotic relationships with Rhizhobia (nodule bacteria), thus storing nitrogen from the air. (This only happens after a standing period of approximately four weeks!)

• Protects the soil from drying out
• Contributes to the formation of the soil food web
• Stores nutrients
• Forms organic matter as food for microorganisms

Recommended use:

Spread the seed mixture evenly over the substrate surface, cover with carbon-rich mulch and moisten.

When the plants reach a height of approximately 10 cm, cut them close to the ground and mix them with the mulch.
