Cover Crop Seed Mix

Seed mix for creating a living mulch layer. Our cover crop mix contains: alfalfa, flax, Alexandrian clover, three types of ryegrass, phacelia, Persian clover, buckwheat, field pea, lupine, ramtill and summer vetch.

Covercrop helps your fresh substrate to become real living soil. The roots of the cover crop open up the substrate and form symbioses with microorganisms. After the roots die, they leave air spaces behind and thus ensure a good supply of oxygen. The legume portion of the mixture forms symbioses with rhizobium (nodule bacteria) and thus stores nitrogen from the air. (But only after a standing period of around four weeks!)
